Are you or someone you love an addict? |
|
If you have doubts that you or someone you love is an addict, take a few moments to answer these questions and answer them as honestly as you can:
Do you/they ever use alone?
Have you/they ever manipulated/lied to a doctor to get prescription drugs?
Do you/they ever regularly use a drug when waking up or going to bed?
Have you/they ever taken a drug to overcome the effects of another drug?
Do you/they ever avoid people or places that do not approve of drug use?
Have you/they ever lied about how much you/they actually use?
Does using interfere with your/their eating or sleeping?
Is drug use making life at home unhappy?
Do you/they continue to use despite negative consequences?
Have you/they ever tried to stop or control your/their use?
Remember, the actual number of "yes" responses isn't as important as how you or loved ones around you feel inside and how the addiction has affected lives. Now... do you think you/they are an addict?
